MEET Bernardo Arsuaga Cárdenas
Bernardo Arsuaga Cárdenas is an award-winning Mexican documentary filmmaker, director, and producer based in Monterrey, Mexico. After building a successful career as a lawyer and law firm partner, Bernardo transitioned into filmmaking to pursue his passion for storytelling, creativity, and meaningful human narratives. Since 2013, he has directed and produced internationally acclaimed documentaries that have screened at major film festivals and cultural events around the world.

Bernardo is best known for his documentaries The Weekend Sailor and The Michoacán File, both of which have received numerous international awards and global recognition. His work has been celebrated for its cinematic quality, emotional depth, and ability to immerse audiences in powerful real-world stories. His films have earned honors from major film festivals and institutions, including the James Beard Award, and have been showcased at high-profile events across Europe, the United States, and Latin America.

Throughout his filmmaking career, Bernardo has collaborated with globally recognized figures, including Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran, actor Danny Trejo, world champion sailors, and internationally renowned chefs. He is also a partner in a post-production studio, allowing him to remain deeply involved in the creative and technical aspects of filmmaking from concept through final delivery.
